So you’ve learned the basics of ceramics, now what? This class is designed for those with ceramics experience looking to improve their skills, learn new techniques, and create in community. During the first class, students will decide what they’d like to learn and we will create a class schedule as a group based on this discussion. Class time is intentionally left open-ended and flexible to accommodate for changes, review, and further discussions. Students are encouraged to come to class with project ideas and techniques they’d like to see demonstrated, or would like support in their exploration of.
Prerequisite:
Students must have some ceramics experience to join this class. Students do not need previous experience at House of Dirt, but should have a basic understanding of the ceramic process. We will not be spending time on foundational wheelthrowing skills such as centering and trimming, so students who desire to make work on the wheel must be comfortable with those skills already. Students who would like to make work using handbuilding techniques are not required to have previous wheelthrowing experience.
