Making Multiples - Tuesdays
Making Multiples - Tuesdays
September 9 - October 28 (8 weeks)
Tuesdays, 6-9pm
$462
This class will be taught primarily in English. Siempre estamos felices de traducir cualquier parte de los demos a español.
In this class, we’ll dive into creating sets of functional ceramics using both wheelthrowing and handbuilding techniques. We will discuss various ways to create multiples with clay, including intentional forms, design elements, and surface development. With a small class size of up to six students, each participant will receive personalized instruction to turn their clay ideas into a reality.
Prerequisite:
Students must have some ceramics experience to join this class. Students do not need previous experience at House of Dirt, but should have a basic understanding of the ceramic process. We will not be spending time on foundational wheelthrowing skills such as centering and trimming, so students who desire to make work on the wheel must be comfortable with those skills already. Students who would like to make work using handbuilding techniques are not required to have previous wheelthrowing experience.
Price includes all taxes and everything you’ll need: 25 lbs clay, underglazes, glaze, firings (for the 25 lbs of clay), and use of studio tools. Payment plans are available upon request.
Registered students get access to our Open Studio Hours for extra independent work time. We have Open Studio every Wednesday 5-9pm and you can schedule additional Open Studio hours at a time that is convenient for you by planning with Ezra/Sage during class, sending a whatsapp message, or emailing us at hello@houseofdirtstudio.com. Each open studio has a maximum of 7 attendees and RSVP is required to all open studios to ensure the studio isn’t too crowded. Students get 1 free Open Studio. Additional Open Studio visits are $14 (including IVU) per day payable via ATH Movil or Venmo. Open Studio visits have a maximum of 4 hours. Please schedule your studio visit with a minimum of 24-hour notice.
